Injured in a Auto Accident, and Not Wearing Your Seatbelt?

Everybody has done it at one time or another. Not buckling up their seatbelts. But what would happen if you were injured in an auto accident and you were not buckled up?

If the accident was your fault, you would be liable for all injuries and damages, so your insurance company would cover your medical expenses.

But what if you were not at fault? Then you could be still held partially responsible for your injuries because you were negligent in not using the safety precautions and buckling up. So your insurance company may have to cover some of your injuries, and it could affect your insurance rates.

So remember to buckle up. It is the law, and it does save lives. Regardless of whether or not the accident was your fault, you could be liable or at least partially liable for your injuries.
